Vinyl junkie, DJ and remixer from Bergamo, Italy, Luca aka Moplen has put out remixes out on crucial labels in the disco-edits scene such as GAMM, BBE, EBO, LUMBERJACKS IN HELL, KAT, seminal house music label HENRY STREET MUSIC and many more.
His multitrack remixes show his distinctive style in revising classic cuts for the modern dancefloor without ruining their original vibe.
As Kon said in his RBMA Headphone Highlights: “I really like his style … i really like that, when you can identify someone’s sound … the same way one could hear a Pete Rock beat or a Premo beat or a Dilla beat … each one of his remixes has his style , so this guy…he does something really unique with the drums”
In the last few years his remixes have been increasingly supported by world class djs and key figures in the music scene. First of all, Dimitri from Paris have been playing Moplen remixes constantly since 2011, when he included Luca’s Sinnamon remix in his Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1.
Radio personalities such as Gilles Peterson and Craig Charles played his tunes in their shows.Drum n bass superstar DJ Marky in his “influences” set on Boiler Room Brasil played a Johnny Hammond unreleased remix by Moplen, stating “this remix by Luca is one of my all time
favourites”.
A bunch of big names in the Disco scene constantly receive and play Moplen’s works in their sets:Little Louie Vega, Danny Krivit, Kon, Ashley Beedle, Kenny Carpenter, Rahaan, Jazzy Jeff, Dazzle

Pour cette nouvelle saison des fameuses "Moon Tapes" sur Radio Meuh, Moon Rise vous présente un DJ originaire de Bergame (Italie), Moplen.
Remixeur de génie, DJ talentueux, et force est de constater vinyl junkie. Luca Moplen a sorti ces dernières années quelques perles magnifiques sur les très sérieux label G.A.M.M, Bbe, Ebo, Lumberjack In Hell, Kat, ou encore Henry Street Music.
Ses remix et edits sont identifiables entre milles, un style propre et singulier, une révision de classiques disco tailler pour les dance floors moderne sans jamais trahir cette vibe originelle d’une période devenu légendaire.
